Ann T. Crandall of Lake Station, IN, June 8, 1923 – September 29, 2012

 

 

Ann Theresa (nee Repiscak)  Crandall, 89, a longtime resident of Lake Station passed away on September 29, 2012, in the arms of her family, having spent the day before her death surrounded by loved ones.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry DeVere Crandall, a WWII Veteran. The two met at the Trina Ballroom in Chicago at a Lawrence Welk performance.  Survived by son, DeVere of Mobile, Ala;  son, Wayne (Jackie) of Portage;  daughter, Sharon (John)Casey of Chicago; grandchildren – Jeremy and Brandon Crandall and Brenna,Johnny and Lauren Casey. Ann was born and raised on the South side of Chicago and spent many years rooting for her hometown teams with her dog, Sandy, at her side. Her favorite pastimes included taking care of her five grandchildren, tending to  her yard with rows of bushes, and  watching classic old syndicated shows like “Lawrence Welk”. Ann was a longtime parishioner of Assumption Church. During her employment she worked in several customer service positions at a local school, major department store and a large  restaurant chain. Friends may visit with Ann’s family at Burns Funeral Home, 701 E. 7th St., Hobart on Friday, October 5th, from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral service Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012 from Burns Funeral Home at 9:00 a.m. and proceeding to Assumption Catholic Church, 3530 Illinois St, New Chicago, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., Rev. Lourdu Pasala officiating. Beloved Wife. Mother and Grandmother forever in our hearts.   Thank you for your love, care and devotion to all of us.
