Joann Maria Florios, age 74, of Sylvania Ohio, formerly of Gary, IN, passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2013.

Joann graduated from Hobart High School and from Florida Southern College with a degree in education.  She obtained her Master’s Degree in Education at Purdue University, Calumet Campus. She was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. Joann was a retired school teacher and taught at Kuny and Webster Elementary schools in Gary, IN.   Joann was preceded in death by her father, Peter, mother Mary and sister Marilyn. She is survived by two nephews, three great nephews and one great niece.  Private services will be held at Burns Funeral Home in Crown Point, IN.
