Oscar Gardner of Flossmoor, IL, passed away on January 14, 2013 at 97 years old.  He was preceded in death by his father Meyer, his mother Rose, his wife of 64 yrs Anita, and his brothers Henry, Leon, and Marshall. He is survived by son Garry (Judy) of Downers Grove, IL, son Donn (Barbara) of Frankfort, IL, son Rick (Colleen) of Austin, TX, grandchildren David (Laura), Amy, Mark (Jenaye), Scott, Joseph, Molly, great-grandchildren Joshua, Anne, MJ, and Madeleine, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.  He was born in Chicago, IL, grew up in Whiting, IN and lived many years in Gary, IN, where he and his wife were the owners and operators of the Blackstone Shop.  Together they also owned a wholesale showroom at the Apparel Center in Chicago for 30 years.  Oscar was a long time member of Temple Israel, in Gary, IN.  He was loved by everyone who had the honor of knowing him.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 10 am at Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, IN with Rabbi Andrea Cosnowsky officiating. Interment at Temple Israel Cemetery, Portage, IN.  Friends are invited to meet with the family at Burns Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5:00-8:00 pm.
