Robert S. “Booboo” Mandon, age 57 of Hobart passed away February 18, 2013. He was a graduate of Lew Wallace High School Class of 1974. He retired from UPS in 2012 after 34 years of safe driving and was inducted into the Circle of Honor in 2003. He was an avid fisherman and Bears, Sox and IU fan. Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Bob fought a valiant battle against ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) for the past year. Throughout his fight his battle cry was “self pity is for punks.”
He was preceded in death by his parents George and Sophie Mandon. Bob is survived by his devoted loving wife of 30 years Jamie; 1 son Adam (Lindsay) Mandon of Hobart; 3 grandchildren Logan James, Mason Robert and Ella Sophia; 2 brothers Tom (Sally) Mandon of Carmel and James (Diane) Mandon of Hobart; sister Georgian (Donald) Hobbs of Indianapolis and numerous nieces and nephews.
Please celebrate Bob’s life with his family and friends on Friday, March 1, 2013 from 2 p.m. until time of Funeral Service at 7 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 701 E. 7th St., Hobart, Mary Ziemkowski officiating.
