Thomas Danny Hecker, age 74, of Glen Park passed away Sunday, May 27, 2012.

Tom was a graduate of Tolleston High School, Class of 1956. He was a Gold Card member of the Gary Sportsman Club; and was the owner of the Variety Lounge in Glen Park since 1978.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Condron, nephew, Danny Condron, and parents, Augie and Betty Hecker. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Rita (nee Fahey) Hecker; sister, Betsy Hecker of Portage; brothers: David Hecker of Miller, Donny Hecker of Portage and Eric Hecker of Crown Point; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A Celebration of Life at the Variety Lounge, 4469 Broadway, Gary, will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2012 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Burns Funeral Home, Crown Point chapel in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of choice.
