Gary Lee Stimler, age 57 of Portage, formerly of Hammond, passed away December 16, 2012. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and most of all spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard. Gary is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 36 years – Mary; children – Timothy (Lavon O’Connor) Stimler, Tara (Justin) Cherry; 3 grandchildren – Hailey, Bryan and Julie; mother – Maxine Stimler; sisters – Deborah Berry and Sandra (Jerry) Baffa; many other loving extended family members. Memorial service will be held on Friday, December 21, 2012 at 5 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 701 E. 7th St., Hobart. Friends are invited to meet with Gary’s family on Friday from 3 p.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
