Helen J. Malich, age 86, of Crown Point, IN, formerly of Gary, passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2013. Helen enjoyed life to the fullest and her legacy was entertaining those around her. She was a member of the American Legion Post 20 Auxiliary and Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary in Crown Point.
She is survived by her loving companion, George “DoDo” Mikulich of Crown Point; her children, Pat (Bob) Forster of Merrillville, Michael Malich, Sharon Malich-Larko, and Karen (George) Mossbarger all of Crown Point, IN; 7 grandchildren, Jay (JoAnne) Kaurich of Portage, Tim (Sereta) Kaurich of Porter, Kari (Craig) Michalski of Valparaiso, Michael Malich of AZ, Jason Doolin of FL, Alexandria Mossbarger of Crown Point, and George Mossbarger of Crown Point; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth “Toots” Pruitt of Hobart, Vera (Link) Bauldauf of Gary, and Genevieve (Dean) Conley of Demotte; brother, Don Lucas of Griffith; and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nick Malich, grandson, Eric Forster, siblings, Julia Brown, Eva Bodnar, Katherine Flick, Leo, John, & Paul Lucas.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 21, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, IN. Rev. John Starr officiating.
