Eugene F. Charbonneau of Crown Point, IN, September 11, 1927 – February 2, 2013

Eugene (Gene) F. Charbonneau, age 85, of Crown Point IN, passed away peacefully on Friday Feb 1 in his home. Gene is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Mary, son Patrick (Rosanna) of South Barrington, IL, Daughters Denise Kochanek  (Dr. Patrick) of Pittsburgh, PA, Diane Hoffman (Andrew) of Cincinnati, OH, Rene Martin (James) of Chesterton, IN, and Cynthia Franzmann (Christopher) of Columbus, OH, grandchildren Dr. Ashley Kochanek, Jillian Kochanek, Stanton Kochanek, Jordan Hoffmann, Maximilian Martin, Kaitryn Franzmann and Jonathan Franzmann, sister Betty (Donald) Moore of Red Bluff CA.

Gene was a two tour U.S. Marine, successful insurance broker, past Rotary and Chamber President. Gene was also an avid golfer, who played long enough to experience a hole in one. He and Mary loved their annual summer vacations at a cottage on a lake with their family, a tradition that has continued for 43 years.

Gene loved people and had an outgoing personality and a sense of humor. It was those attributes along with a strong sense of integrity that can be best captured by the motto “Once a Marine, Always a Marine” that left an impression on all those who knew him.

 Friends may visit with the family on Sunday February 10th from 2 to 7  pm at Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point IN. Funeral service to be held at Burns funeral Home at noon Monday February 11.

Janet Elaine Coslet of Hobart, IN, March 6, 1947 – January 31, 2013

Janet E. Coslet, age 65, a longtime Hobart resident, passed away January 31,

2013.  She was preceded in death by her husband Lyn Coslet and father Charles McCarty.  Janet is survived by her mother Letha McCarty; children Jennifer (Dennis Hutnick) Carter, James (Chris) Carter, Jason (Lisa) Carter and Jgeorgia (Don) Glorioso; 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.  Friends may visit with Janet’s family on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 701 E. 7th St., Hobart until time of Funeral Service at 7 p. m.  Pastor Richard Brown officiating.

Deborah Lynn Gardner of Macon Georgia, March 19, 1954 – January 29, 2013

Deborah Lynn Gardner, age 58, of Crown Point, formerly of Hebron, passed away on 01/29/2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur John and Darlene Rae Barrett; son, Gregory Rome; daughters, Melissa and Catherine Gardner; brother, Arthur Steve Barrett. Deborah is survived by her daughter, Tracey Gardner, Ft. Worth Texas; grandchildren, Jeffrey and Jeremy Richeson sister, Roxanne Barrett, Macon Georgia; brother, Michael Barrett, Ft. Worth, Texas; sister-in-law, Georgia Barrett, TN.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 5pm at Washington Evangelist Free Church, 3805 LaPorte Ave, Valparaiso, IN. Rev. Brian Fontaine officiating. Burns Funeral Home, Crown Point in charge of arrangements.
