Anita Genevieve Snow of Merrillville, IL, August 26, 1926 – April 5, 2013

Anita Genevieve Snow, 86, of Merrillville, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2013, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.  When her children were young, Anita was a devoted stay-at-home mom and active member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. She participated with her friends in a monthly Yahtzee club, enjoyed knitting, and playing the piano.  As a senior, Anita loved Bingo and had fun attending weekly events with her wonderful neighbor.  Anita was always a dedicated hard-working employee having worked for Prudential Insurance in Chicago before relocating to Northwest Indiana.  Once her children grew, Anita worked in retail for Edward C Minas and as a Bridal Consultant/Bookkeeper for Stephan’s Bridal Salon.  Loving mother and wife, Anita was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Dale Snow, parents Johanna Helena Metzger and Fred Kipp, and brother Alfred Kipp.  Anita is survived by her 4 children, James (Jayne) Snow of Houston TX, Janice (Stephen) Krysinski of Minneapolis MN, Judith Santacaterina of Merrillville,and Jeffrey Snow of Merrillville; 5 grandchildren, Jacki Lynn (Andrew) Thorn, Ashley (Tyler O’Neill) Krysinski,  Lindsey Krysinski, McClary Snow, and Jacob Santacaterina; and 3 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.Our Loving Mother will be so very much missed and will always be in our hearts. Friends may visit with Anita’s family on Monday  April 8th from 3-6pm at Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, IN.  Funeral service will be following at 6: 00 pm.  In lieu of flowers ,contributions may be sent to St Anthony Home, Crown Point, or to the Alzheimer’s Association
