Nicholas P Peronis of Lowell, IN , April 7, 1929 – March 12, 2013

 

Nicholas P. Peronis, age 83, of Lowell, IN, passed away on March 12, 2013.

He was a retired employee of US Steel with 41 yrs of service.  Nick was a member of Sts. Constantine  & Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral where he served as Director of the food pantry for Ross Township. He was also a member of the Senior Citizens at the cathedral. Nick was a veteran of the US Army, Korean conflict. He was preceeded in death by his wife, Victoria; his parents Pantelis and Belia Peronis, and two brothers, Anthony and Mercury.  He is survived by his four sons, Pete, Michael and Tony of Lowell, IN; Dan of Houston, TX; three sisters, Frances (George) Klimis of Lowell, IN; Magdaline and Nellie Tiliakos of Fernandina Beach, Fl.  He had numerous nieces and nephews, who all loved him very much.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 15,2013 at 12:00 noon at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 8000 Madison St., Merrillville, IN with Rev. Ted Poteres officiating.  Interment at Calumet Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with Nick’s family on Thursday, March 14th at Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, IN from 2:00 to 8:00 pm.  Trisagion service will be held at 5 pm on Thursday.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral Food Pantry.
