Eva Marie Gallagher of Canton, OH, August 19, 1982 – April 3, 2013

 

 

 

 

 

 

Eva “Marie” Gallagher, age 30 of Canton, OH, formerly of Hobart, passed away April 3, 2013.  She was a graduate of Hobart High School, Class of 2001.  She graduated with a Bachelors degree from Indiana University Northwest and worked for Dr. Dicostanzo as a Dental Hygienist and was currently working in Ohio.  Marie dedicated most of her life to physical fitness.

She was preceded in death by her father Patrick Gallagher, brother Patrick, Jr., paternal grandparents Mary and John Gallagher, uncle Joe Castro and her best four legged friend, Capone.  Marie is survived by her parents Gladys and Ken Williams of Hobart; fiancé Dr. Nick Shundry of OH; brothers Kenny Williams, Michael Gallagher and sister Amber Williams, all of Hobart.  She is also survived by grandparents Angel and Eva Castro of FL, Ken and Nancy Williams of Hobart and Wilma and Bill Tryka of Demotte; and sisters, not by blood but by heart and soul Lyndsey Kennedy, Jennifer Benson, and Melissa Smedley; 2 special aunts Lucy Castro of FL and Diane (Rick) Bishop of AL, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.  Marie was a great“titi” (aunt) to special nephew Aiden Gallagher.

Friends may visit with Marie’s family on Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 701 E. 7th St., Hobart.  Funeral Service will begin Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home and proceed to St. Bridget Catholic Church, 568 E. 2nd St., Hobart for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.,Rev. Dominic V. Bertino officiating.  Burial at Calumet Park Cemetery.

Phyllis H. Henderson of Hobart, IN, August 13, 1920 – April 4, 2013

 

Phyllis H. Henderson, age 92, of Hobart passed away April 4, 2013.  She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Indiana University.  She was a member of 1st United Methodist Church of Hobart, P.E.O. Chapter Y, and Tri Kappa-Gary Associate.

Phyllis also delivered Meals on Wheels for over 15 years and was a Volunteer at Methodist Hospital for over 20 years.  She was a past board member of the Gary YMCA.

She was preceded in death by husband Jack Henderson, son Richard J. and daughter Barbara Jean.  Phyllis is survived by daughter JoAnne (Timothy) Bowen of Ellettsville; grandson Joshua (Becki) Bowen of Wyoming, MI and 2 grandchildren Avery and Cameron.

Friends may visit with Phyllis’ family on Saturday from 3 p.m. until time of Funeral Service at 5 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 701 E. 7th St., Hobart. Rev. Jonathan P. Gosser officiating.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Hobart or to the American Cancer Society.
