Donna M. Mattox, age 66, of Crown Point, formerly of Hobart, passed away Friday, April 19, 2013.

Donna was a dedicated operation supervisor at Wells Fargo for 38 years. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, and being a wife.

She was preceded in death by her father, Adam Sobczynski. She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Roy; mother Mary Sobczynski; brothers: Gene Sobczynski and Joseph Sobczynski.

Friends may visit with the family at the Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at the Burns Funeral Home with Deacon Brian Nosbusch officiating.

Donald Ernest Stavitzke, age 75, of Hanna, IN, was born April 27, 1937 in Whiting, IN. He passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2013.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Louise (Sokal) Stavitzke; 6 children: Janet (Richard) Powers, Joyce Andersen, Joan (Robert) Matlock, Jean (John) Ruffner, Michael Stavitzke and Cassie Stavitzke; 5 grandchildren: Gary, Sherri, Danielle, Emma and Jacob. 1 great grandchild, Courtney; 3 sisters: Donna Neal, Diane (Mathew) Lubarski and Debra Lawton and many loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Shirley Stavitzke.

He was an avid Trade Unionist and 45 year member of Millwright Local 1043. He had a superb mechanical mind, was a quality Millwright, Machinist and Carpenter. He loved to hunt and fish. During Don’s retirement he became a Master Gardner. He was a fine man who will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

Joseph D. Shudick, Sr. of Valparaiso, formerly Merrillville, November 25, 1922 – April 19, 2013

Joseph D. Shudick, Sr. age 90, a 34 year resident of Valparaiso and formerly

of Merrillville, passed away April 19, 2013. He was a member of the Northwest Indiana Beekeepers Association, Past President of Lake County Master Gardener Association, and Lake County Amateur Radio Association K9EJF. He served in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific during WWII and retired from US Steel Central Engineering department. Joseph was preceded in death by parents John and Elizabeth Shudick, brothers John, Paul and Dan and sisters Sophie and Agnes. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Betty Shudick; children Linda Hensley, Pat (Brad) Bates, Joe (Sue) Shudick, Jr., Dawn (Mark) Hansen and Terry (Carolyn) Shudick; grandchildren Stacey (Brian) Shell, Nicole Shudick, Christopher and Katelan Bates, Elizabeth and Jaclyn Hansen, Alyssa Hensley and Emily and Ashlyn Shudick; great- grandchild Holden Shell. Visitation is Monday from 9 a.m. to time of service at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 509 W. Division Road, Valparaiso, IN.

Janet “Sally” Fasel, age 84 of Hobart, passed away April 17, 2013. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Mothers Circle. Sally was a wonderful mother and a friend to everyone. She was preceded by her husband Al Fasel and brother Hubert Lines, Jr. Sally is survived by children Diana Brechbill, Darrell (Mary) Fasel, Dean (Carol) Fasel, Darlene Fasel, Dale Fasel and Dudley (Lisa) Fasel; grandchildren Jayme (Paul) DeJulius, Mitchell Fasel and Jonathan Fasel; great-grandchildren Cameron Fasel, Sage Snow, Syan DeJulius and Cadence Fasel; brothers Rich (Terri) Lines, Danny (Lorinda) Lines and sister Norma Schroeder.

Friends may visit with Sally’s family Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 701 E. 7^th St., Hobart and Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 900 Luther Drive, Hobart, from 9:30 a.m. to time of Funeral Service at 10 a.m. Pastor Gary Nagy officiating. Burial Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
