Theodore Joseph Varga of Hebron, Indiana, December 3, 1942 – September 9, 2012

Theodore Varga, “Sonny” age 69, of Hebron, IN formerly of Gary, IN passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2012.  KSANTI~sanskrit~is patience, forbearance, and the strong endurance of hardship.  A conscious choice to actively give patience as a gift.  A practice of perfection. Theodore, otherwise known as Papoo, was the epitome of love, compassion, and grace under pressure. Family and friends, and all who were lucky enough to be a part of this life with him know what a blessing and honor it was.  Selfless and inspirational, a patriarch, born leader, not just of a family, but to all who knew him.  You will be sorely missed and forever in our hearts.  We love you Papoo.  His passions included his family, art, painting, woodworking, fishing, grandkids, and Jackson Hole. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.    “No grave but the sea, Dad, No grave but the sea!”  He is survived by a most gracious wife, Cheryl Varga, daughter, Danielle (Jeremy) Chastain, son, Tad (Kim) Varga, son, Dustin (Carrie) Varga; grandchildren, Jack, Sarah, Grace, Telly, Charlie, Sammy, Lucy, Finn and Fern, and his sister Alberta (Bob) Boznak and many nieces & nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Elizabeth Varga.

A casual outdoor celebration of Sonny’s life will be held at the Taltree Arboretum, 450 W. 100 N., Valparaiso, IN on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 from 4:00p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers please consider donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital of Memphis, TN or Taltree Arboretum.  www.burnsfuneral.com

Jodeci Destiny Jean Thilmont of Crown Point, Indiana, February 27, 1993 – September 8, 2012

Jodeci Destiny Thilmont “JoJo”, age 19, of Crown Point, IN, passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2012.  JoJo was a graduate of Crown Point High School, Class of 2011 and a former employee of Burger King.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Melissa Thilmont, Maternal grandmother, Laura Haub and paternal grandfather, Charles Salerno.  She is survived by her father, Charles “Chuck” Salerno of Valparaiso; twin sisters, Tierra & Sierra Salerno; Aunt, April Salerno of Demotte; Paternal grandmother, Sharon Salerno; Maternal grandparents, William & Juanita Thilmont of Highland; Uncle, William “Billy” Thilmont of MO; special family friends, Bill & Trinity Willette and numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins.

There will be a time of sharing on Thursday, September 13, 2012 from 4:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, IN.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the family.

Harry Allen Langbehn, Sr. of Valparaiso, Indiana, June 12, 1933 – September 9, 2012

Harry Allen Langbehn, Sr.,  age 79, of Valparaiso, formerly of Tolleston & Hobart, passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2012.  Harry was a member of Temple Israel.  He served as a corporal for the U. S. Army during the Korean War.  He was also a member of Teamsters Local 142 and a Gold member of the Gary Sportsmen’s Club.  Harry is survived by his loving wife, Marsha, daughter, Barbara (Barry) Maack, son, Harry (Angela) Langbehn, Jr.; 5 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild, Abraham; brothers, Raymond and Douglas Langbehn and many nieces, nephews, & cousins.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2012, 10:00 am at Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, IN.  Rabbi Stanley Halpern officiating.  Interment at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Gary, IN.  Friends may visit with Harry’s family at Burns Funeral Home, Crown Point, IN on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  www.burnsfuneral.com
