Dennis W. Wright, Sr. of Demotte, IN, May 11, 1971 – June 29, 2012

Dennis W. Wright, Sr., “Superman” age 41, of Demotte, IN passed away peacefully at home of natural causes surrounded by his loving family on Friday, June 29, 2012.


Dennis was a union laborer of Local #81 in Valparaiso.  He was our superman & will be loved and missed for all time. He was taken from us too soon.


He is preceded in death by his son, Charles Aidan Walker Wright on Dec. 6, 2004, mother, Betty Jane Wright, brother, Charles Edward Wright, and mother –in-law, Eileen Wood.


Husband to Emily (nee Wood) Wright, father of Dennis Wright,  Jr. of Demotte, Syanne, Stephanie, Joseph, & Austin and numerous “adopted” children, 3 grandchildren, Charlotte, Braydon, & Izzac; son of Charles Wright, Moweaqua, IL; Uncle “Dawg”of  Jeremy, Sabre, Angela, Tyler, and Sydney.

Friends may visit with the family at Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, IN on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home. Lois Jean Braswell of Hebron, IN, May 30, 1939 – July 1, 2012

Lois Jean Kafantaris Braswell (nee Broadaway), age 73, of Hebron, formerly of Koontz Lake, passed away on July 1, 2012. Lois was born on May 30, 1939, the oldest of 11 children.  She was a graduate of Merrillville High School and received her B. S. degree in Health Arts from St. Joseph College.  She worked as a registered nurse for fifty years.   She was a retired employee at St. Mary Medical Center.  Lois was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Crown Point and Friends of the Library. 


She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton and Stella Broadaway.  Lois is survived by 2 sons – Keith Randall (Kristeen) Kafantaris of Walkerton, IN and Nicholas Kafantaris of IN; 2 daughters – Carolyn Kafantaris of Las Vegas and Kimberly (Joseph) Hurley of Schererville; 5 grandchildren – Gary, Keith, Miranda, and Morgan Kafantaris and Pleatheal  Roberts; 4 brothers – James Broadaway of Lowell, John (Betty) Broadaway of UT, Thomas (Denise) Broadaway of Crown Point and Joseph (Pamela) Broadaway of Hobart; 6 sisters – Mary Ann (Edward) Yerga of St. John, Veronica Stacks of Roselawn, Sandra (William) Poling of Merrillville, Debra (Thomas) Wright of Pleasanton, TX, Jennifer (Edward) Martin of North Judson, and Michelle (Paul) Nickla of LOFS; numerous nieces, nephews and loving friends.


Funeral service will be held Friday, July 6, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 218 S. Court St., Crown Point.  Cremation will follow.  Friends are invited to celebrate with Lois’ family on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point from 2-7 p.m. and Friday at the church from 9:30 until the time of service at 10 a.m. Contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Building Fund or the Northwest Indiana Humane Society.  “My life had its ups and downs. . . but it was a great ride”.  www.burnsfuneral.com

Thomas E. Gault, Sr. of Merrillville, IN, March 29, 1934 – June 26, 2012

Thomas E. Gault, Sr., age 78, of Merrillville, IN, passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2012.  Tom was a member of the Merrrillville 1st Presbyterian Church.  He worked for Marbon Chemical for 20 years and retired from U. S. Steel after 25 years of service.  Tom loved to fish, hunt, and most of all, spend time with his family.  He will be greatly missed.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Hensley.  He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Shirley; children, Cheryl (Thomas) Jones, Thomas Gault, Jr., and Lorri (Jim) Knapp; 4 grandchildren, Brandon Jones, Danielle (Brad) Garland, Garett Gault, and Adam Goodman; sister, Phyllis (late Bill) Hepler.

 

Friends may visit with the family on Friday, June 29, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, IN.  Memorial service will be held at 12:00p.m. on Friday at Burns Funeral Home.  Pastor Bill Hudson, officiating.  Service will end at the funeral home.
