Andrew A Pastor of Gary, IN, November 25, 1914 – January 15, 2013

Andrew A. “Chico” Pastor, age 98, of Miller, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2013.  Andy was born in Gary and raised his family in Miller.  He graduated from Froebel High School and was a dedicated employee of U. S. Steel for 43 years.  He was looked upon as a dad and handyman to all within the neighborhood.  He is a member of St. Mary of the Lake Church.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Lillian and grandson, Colin.  He is survived by his children, Debbie Pastor, Bob (Kim) Pastor, Andrea (Michael) Cancelliere; grandchildren, Lindsay & Jordan Pastor; Catie & Kiley Arthur; great-grandson, Jacob Laurinaitis; and many loving cousins.  Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, IN.  Rev. Esther L. Tittle of Valparaiso, IN, June 11, 1917 – January 11, 2013

Esther L. Tittle, age 95, of Valparaiso, IN, formerly of Gary, Griffith, and Merrillville, passed away on January 11, 2013.  Esther is survived by son, Robert (Nancy) Tittle, three grandchildren, Dina (Sean) Byvoets, Michael (Christy) Tittle, and Amy (Ryan) Harrington, and six great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by husband, Robert James, brother, Everett Stewart, and sister, Fern Blank.  Esther was retired from the Human Resources Dept. of Gainer Bank and formerly worked at Slicks Cleaners and Tittle Brothers Packing Co.  She was a very active member of the First Congregational Church in Gary, IN and later, Peace United Church of Christ in Merrillville, IN, where she served as Treasurer, Financial Secretary, and was a member of the church council.  Esther was a member of P.E.O., Gary Women’s Club, and various bridge groups.  In addition, she volunteered at Contact Cares for over twenty-five years.  She will remembered for her passion for travel, love of family and friends, and dedication to her church.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Peace United Church of Christ, 1001 W. 73rd Ave., Merrillville, IN 46410.  Pastor Joan Meier officiating.  Interment at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville. Anne M. Schwab of Crown Point, Indiana, February 29, 1924 – January 14, 2013

Anne M. Schwab, age 88, of Crown Point, IN, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2013.  Anna enjoyed the outdoors and most of all spending time with her grandchildren & great-grandchildren.  She will be greatly missed.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick and son,  Michael.  She is survived by her children, Marie (Robert) Maravilla and Ronald Schwab; 3 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.

William Petrelli of Crown Point, Indiana, May 27, 1929 – January 12, 2013

 

 

William Petrelli, age 83, of Crown Point, passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2013.

 

William was a veteran of the Army Air Corp., former owner of Billy Bear’s Sports Bar and a member of Our Lady of Consolation Church.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Pierre Aprati and Odea Thise and his brother Ernie Petrelli.

 

William is survived by his wife Doryce, and sons, Joseph Liszczak and Derrick Liszczak; several nieces and nephews.
